Barbara Harman — Barbara Harman is a Certified and Nationally Registered Yoga Teacher whose teaching is directly influenced by Anusara Yoga®. After a successful career in government, she began practicing yoga routinely and realized she was more youthful and energetic than ever before. Her desire to share this new-found wellness with others led her to the pursuit of yoga teacher certification. She studied with Rashmi Sue Jenkins, Yoganand Michael Carroll, Mona Hoff and other Anusara teachers. Barbara is a certified karmic astrologer. The fusion of her studies enables her to better understand the human spirit. Barbara is dedicated to the wellness and growth of her students regardless of age, condition or prior yoga experience.

Casey Hall Casey Hall began her study of yoga in 2002, seeing yoga as a natural extension of her childhood study of dance.  She dabbled in many styles before quickly finding a home in Anusara in 2003. She completed her 108 hour Immersion and 200 hour(RYT) Anusara teacher training at Willow Street Yoga Center, as well as a Level I teacher Training with John Friend.  Casey brings a light hearted sense of play to her classes, and likes to think of her yoga mat as a child's sandbox, a place for playfulness and fun!

Cathy Clark — Cathy Clark is a certified yoga instructor whose teaching is directly influenced by Anusara Yoga®. She has studied extensively with John Friend, Moses Brown, Kathleen Hogan and Kathy Donnelly, and is currently working toward Anusara certification. Cathy’s teaching style nurtures, encourages and empowers students to open and transform from the inside out. In addition to teaching yoga classes, Cathy specializes in yoga therapeutics. She is a licensed occupational therapist, and is on the faculty at Towson University in the Department of Occupational Therapy.

Cheryl Catranbone — Cheryl Catranbone has been studying and practicing yoga in earnest since 1993. A certified yoga teacher since 1996, she found her way into the family of Anusara Yoga® in 2000. From that point on, Cheryl has immersed herself in the study and practice of Anusara Yoga and is an Affiliated Anusara Teacher. Former director of Golden Om Yoga & Wellness of Mississippi, Cheryl shares her experience and deep passion for yoga with genuine warmth, humor and joyful expression.

Elaine Champion

Claudia Neuman — Claudia Neuman is a Certified Anusara Yoga® teacher, the culmination of a lifelong devotion to achieving excellence in yoga. She has over 21 years of formal yoga training, starting  in Santa Monica, California, in 1984, where she became the first person to offer yoga at the YMCA.  While at USC completing a Masters Degree in Social Work, she taught yoga to students and faculty. She integrates her knowledge of yoga with her skill as a social worker, developing corporate stress reduction programs, working with oncology patients at Children’s Hospital, and teaching yoga to artists and performers.  She has trained with noteworthy teachers of Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga including Rod Stryker, and assisting Erich Shiffman.  In 1993, faced with possibly losing the use of her left arm as a result of a debilitating car accident, she began studying Pilates and therapeutic yoga. This led her to John Friend, creator of Anusara Yoga, with whom she now studies.

Larissa Stewart, L.Ac. — Larissa Stewart is an Acupuncturist, Ohashi-inspired Shiatsu practitioner, Certified Qigong Instructor and aspiring Anusara Yoga® teacher.  She teaches many forms of self-cultivation methods including T’ai Chi Chuan, Crane Style Qigong, Intelligent Qigong, The Vitality Method, Tendon Changing/Bone Marrow Washing, and a wide variety of self-massage, breathing & visualization methods from the Institute of Integral T’ai Chi & Qigong.  She has studied yoga with Moses Brown, Claudia Neuman and John Friend.  She believes that through mindful movement, we can find our own inner peace, cultivate our innate ability to heal ourselves, and strengthen our connection to nature.

Livia Shapiro Livia has studied various forms and styles of yoga since the age of 17. She began teaching at 19 as an undergraduate student at the University of Vermont, and at 22 completed her 200 hour yoga alliance certification and became a registered Anusara Inspired teacher. Her continued investment in the practice and dedication to the path has lead her to teachers including Kevin Gardner, Deb Neubuar, Mitchel Bleier, John Friend, Douglas Brooks and Ana Forest. A competitive figure skater turned yogin, Livia has an athletic spirit steeped within a love for artistic expression and graceful movement. Her classes are physically challenging, alignment oriented, and always heart centered. Livia invites students to challenge the boundaries of their physical ability, explore their own inner wisdom, and engage both their practice and life from a place deep inside the heart.

Teachers

Melissa Hullman — Melissa Hullman first experienced the healing benefits of Anusara Yoga® in her own recovery from chronic pain, and has been a joyfully dedicated student of yoga since. She encourages students to listen to their own wisdom, live from their hearts, and reach their fullest potential both on and off the mat. Through applying her understanding of yoga to her practice as a musician, Melissa discovered a new-found freedom in playing that she seeks to share with other musicians. She has studied with John Friend, Mona Hoff, Moses Brown, Suzie Hurley, and Jenny Otto.

Michael Graff — Michael Graff is a Certified Massage Therapist and Affiliated Anusara Yoga® teacher.  He began his study of internal arts as an engineer coping with the hectic business world. He first studied Tai Chi, which gave him a greater sense of well-being, increased poise and balance.  He deepened his studies with qigong and meditation, and in 2001 took his first Anusara Yoga class.  Within months, his flexibility improved dramatically and 20 years of chronic back pain was eliminated.  Intrigued, Michael began studying to teach Anusara Yoga with Moses Brown, Kathleen Hogan and John Friend.

Regina Armenta Regina is an Anusara-Inspired Yoga Teacher. She has been practicing yoga since the age of 14. After receiving a BA in Physical Therapy at Ohio State University, she became interested in teaching yoga.  In 2006, she was introduced to Anusara Yoga which she has been studying since. She completed the Anusara Yoga Teacher training at Willow Street Yoga Center this year, continues to apprentice with Suzie Hurley, and has studied with the regions best Anusara Yoga teachers. She studies Tantric Philosophy with Douglas Brooks. Regina integrates her extensive knowledge of Anatomy and Physical Therapy with Anusara Yoga's Universal Principles of Alignment. Her sincere desire to unveil the true nature within while keeping the physical body safe, creates a class  environment that encourages students to build a solid foundation while exploring their unlimited potential.

Sara Neufeld Sara is a third-generation yogini, following both her mother and grandmother onto the yogic path.  She tried different styles of yoga before coming to Anusara in 2006.  The Universal Principles of Alignment have helped her to understand and control chronic back and neck pain.  Sara is a graduate of the Willow Street Yoga Center teacher training.  She is committed to making yoga accessible to everyone and to giving her students the tools they need to manage stress in their daily lives. She is grateful to study with many wonderful teachers at both Willow Street and Quantum.

Sue Borchardt — Sue Borchardt discovered yoga 7 years ago as a desk-bound software engineer and quickly learned how much it had to offer in balancing the long hours and stressful schedule. While some things have changed (Sue is now an artist and the long hours are spent in her studio) yoga still provides balance. Her main teachers have been Linda Howard and Katchie Gaard but she has been influenced by teachers in a variety of styles including Iyengar, Anusara, and Vinyasa. She's a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) through the yoga alliance and has over 400 hours of Anusara® yoga teacher training as well as therapeutic yoga training with Jenny Otto. Vivian Campagna — A passionate yogini since 1999, Vivian’s classes are infused with joy, enthusiasm and the wisdom acquired from over 1,000 hours of study with John Friend and some of Anusara’s most esteemed teachers.  A former classical dancer, Vivian delights in creating flowing asana sequences designed to strengthen and open the body, as well as to ignite the flame of the spirit.  Vivian’s main spiritual practice is raising her young daughter, Lila Grace.  She wishes to thank her husband John for his limitless support, and her main teachers Suzie Hurley and Claudia Neuman for shining light on her path.
