The one-month Intensive Yoga Teacher Training on Ibiza will run from 2nd till 30th November 2021, 4 weeks. It will be held at Casa Quàntic, situated in the quiet campo (countryside), but not far from the lovely village of Santa Gertrudis, famous for its high quality restaurants and boutiques. Lara Baumann, founder of Quantum Yoga, will be running the course, co-taught by Nadine Bader, and assisted by Georgina Smith, both experienced 500-hr Quantum Yoga teachers. Dr Matthew Clark will be lecturing on various specialized subjects from Samkya philosophy and sadhu culture to Tantra and basic Sanskrit. This marks the 17th Quantum Yoga Teacher Training, and this particular team has worked together successfully on many occasions, so you will be in very safe, competent and loving hands!

The course will be held in English, but Nadine and Lara speak fluent German, Lara also has very good French and Spanish skills, so if you are not a native English-speaker, translation can be offered where questions arise.

Suitability for the teacher training:

The Teacher Training is suitable for those who have completed a 200-hour training and would now like to develop their teaching skills further, deepen and intensify their understanding of the knowledge gained previously, and gain additional insight into the spiritual science of yoga.

The 500-hour program will run alongside the 200-hour Intensive Teacher Training, and as such you will act in the role of mature student, able to support and advise the less experienced trainees. You will therefore be working very closely with Lara and Nadine, thus acquiring the practical, pedagogic and psychological skills to guide students through stressful and pressurized situations.

Course Content & Accreditation:

The content of the course will be a further development and deepening of your understanding of the history, philosophy and application of yoga. In order to substantiate your knowledge of Quantum Yoga, you will be expected to further explore the teachings of Ayurveda and the significance of Quantum physics in the framework of asana-vinyasa, pranayama and meditation practice. There will be a chance to recap the subjects covered in the previous courses (see 200-hour TT content), and thus expand your knowledge on these from a solid foundation.  You will be expected to develop from simply taking in information to now displaying the skill of clearly and succinctly imparting it to others, as well as relating it back to and integrating it into the realm of asana teaching. Thus part of the 500-hour course work will include a lecture prepared by you on a chosen subject. This may then also form your subject for a written thesis of 5000 words. You will be expected to have prepared an outline proposal for your final paper, which will be written after completion of the course (final submission date is 30th December 2021).

The assessment on the 500-hour course will consist of a written preparatory outline with handouts, to be approved by Lara, followed by the actual teaching of the class. The structure will need to follow the Quantum Yoga Grouping and Sequencing laws. There will have to be an explanation of the Assessment methodology, as informed by Ayurvedic principles. The sequence will have to have a clear theme, a peak pose (if appropriate), as well as the application of linking mechanisms beyond half-vinyasas.

Over and above the 200-hour classes, all of which the 500-hour trainees will attend, there will be an additional Practicum before the main morning asana-vinyasa class, as well our own Q&A session before the lectures in the afternoon. There will be regular meetings with Lara to review the study, practice and events of the course, in order to clarify their relevance and significance, preparing the 500-hour students’ ability to construct and execute their own elaborate yoga programs in the future.

The course will take place at Quiet near Auroville, see www.quiethealingcenter.info. At her last visit, Lara was particularly impressed by the variety and quality of treatments available at Quiet. Naturally, it is very useful to be able to compliment the training by treating yourself to quality massage, watsu and healing treatments.

The yummy and wholesome food on the course will be largely vegetarian, while individual dietary requirements will be taken into account. The kitchen at Quiet offers an Indian, as well as a Western option at every meal.

Although not in Auroville, Quiet is associated with Auroville, which means that we can have access to the breathtakingly amazing Matrimandir, as well as the many interesting and fun events and activities in Auroville.

Cost:

The cost is €4950 (sharing) or €5595 for your own room. All rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, comfortable beds and for the most part their own outdoor space, either in the form of a balcony, roof terrace, patio or veranda. These course fees quoted below include all teaching and assessment, the essential Quantum Yoga book, accommodation, all 3 meals and afternoon tea & snacks, Sunday study trips, transfers and of course a celebratory end of training event. Prices are quoted in Euros, but payment can equally be made in US dollars or pounds sterling (xe.com is good for currency conversion).

If you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible. We will send you an interview form, which will give you the opportunity to confirm your suitability for and interest in the program. Participants are limited to 15.

Once you have been offered a spot we would require 20% payment to hold it; the remainder of the balance will then need to be paid in full six weeks before the start of the course (21st September 2021) unless otherwise agreed, which would depend on your personal circumstance.
